Emir Z. Gómez Farah is an Argentine artist and architect based in Barcelona whose practice explores systems of belief, symbolic structures, spatial rituals, and contemporary material culture through installation, sculpture, drawing, and spatial research.

His work unfolds within a territory where the everyday begins to vibrate. He is interested in the objects and behaviors so close to us that they often become imperceptible: repeated gestures, small habits, inherited superstitions, personal rituals, and minimal signals that organize our relationship to the world. Within them emerges the possibility of a discreet ritual, a form of meaning pulsing beneath ordinary life.

Farah's practice investigates how systems of belief are constructed and sustained: symbolic frameworks that guide actions, produce meaning, and shape expectations about reality. Throughout history these systems have taken the form of religions, mythologies, customs, and cosmologies; today they also manifest through technical infrastructures, institutions, political narratives, everyday habits, and the countless personal beliefs individuals invent to navigate uncertainty. A football superstition, a lucky object, a domestic ritual, or a technological device can all be understood as different expressions of the same human impulse to create meaning and establish symbolic relationships with the unknown.

Approaching space as a sensitive body in which every material possesses weight, temperature, and tension, Farah works with combinations of organic and industrial elements — clay, copper, salt, wood, cables, light, and electronic components — to construct symbolic architectures and speculative devices where the technical and the ritual overlap. His installations operate as open systems of translation between the visible and the invisible, the rational and the imagined, transforming everyday objects into mediators of meaning. Within these environments, the ordinary becomes strange and the sacred appears stripped of solemnity, revealing the symbolic frameworks through which we inhabit, interpret, and negotiate the world.
